MORE than 40,000 rapid lateral flow coronavirus tests have been conducted so far this month.
As of September 15, there has been 604,494 lateral flow tests - where results are returned within an hour without the need of a lab - taken in Barnsley since the start of the pandemic.
Almost 14 per cent of all PCR tests - where swabs are sent to a lab - are also returning positive results.
There’s been 8,205 tests conducted in the last seven days and 13.6 per cent of those were positive.
