RESIDENTS are being invited to have their say in new plans that could help make the town centre carbon neutral.

The draft plan has been prepared by Urbed who has created plans to ensure that the town centre will be safe, vibrant, and accessible for everyone.

The plan's overarching themes focus on sustainability as well as, retail, culture, employment, housing, greenspace, and connections.

A list of potential projects have been set out and the public are being asked for their views to take into account which projects you would like to see within the town.

The plans were created to fit with Barnsley Council's commitment to work towards carbon net-zero by 2045.

Some of the plans include building homes that meet people's needs as they get older, creating more communal space, and making affordable and reliable transport options.

The consultation will close on September 30. To have your say, click here.
