AN event to mark the centenary of a war memorial will take place tomorrow.
The Swinton war memorial was set up in 1921, and a service will take place to re-dedicate it t the people of the town.
At 11.30am, a parade will be held with the Lord Lieutenant and MP John Healey in attendance.
The service of re-dedication will take place at midday and names of the fallen will be read out by local school children.
Then, at 12.30pm a fair will be held and the Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir will sing wartime songs.
Rotherham councillor Ken Wyatt, said: “It looks set to be a memorable day.”
