New scheme to help employment in Central ward

BARNSLEY’S central area council are offering support to residents to breakdown barriers that are preventing employment.

The new scheme, dubbed One Step Closer, is for anyone aged 18 and over in the central area ward - which spans across Worsbrough, Stairfoot, Central, Kingstone and Dodworth.

A spokesperson for the scheme said: “We can help to remove any barriers you may have preventing you from taking your ‘Next Step’ into employment, training, or volunteering.

“This could be job application support, CV building, employment exploring, training and volunteering availability.

“There’s so many different ways to make your ‘Next Step’.”
