CARERS and essential staff from Barnsley are invited to a celebration of their work throughout the pandemic by a firm set up by a local man.
In-home care providers Visiting Angels, ran by Barnsley man Dan Archer, will be hosting the free event for local NHS and frontline workers on Monday.
It will take place from 2pm to 8pm at Thorncliffe Hill in Sheffield.
A spokesperson for the firm said: “The last 18 months have placed enormous pressure on everyone in society.
“For most of the first lockdown, we were clapping for carers and keyworkers at 8pm on Thursday evening.
“Emerging from restrictions provides a fantastic opportunity to get together and celebrate what keyworkers have done for us all.
“Visiting Angels, as a nationwide network, collectively feels passionately about celebrating the incredible people who have bolstered the nation over the last year and want to thank them for their professionalism, commitment, and determination.
“Originally meant to be held on July 5 for NHS Social Care & Frontline Workers’ Day, funds will be raised for the organisation’s two charities of choice - NHS Charities Together and the National Care Association.”
