CONSULTATION sessions on the future of swathes of land in Carlton – which will bring 2,000 homes to the area – will end this week.
The final virtual session, based around the environment, will be held online tomorrow from 6pm until 7.15pm.
Public consultation will run until July 28 and residents can view the proposals on Barnsley Council’s website.
A spokesperson for the council said: “Carlton’s new development will deliver a sustainable new community, focused around Wharncliffe Woodmoor as the key green space.
“It will provide high-quality housing within a pedestrian and cyclist-friendly environment and be linked to the surrounding outdoor spaces such as Carlton Marsh.
“The proposals also include land for business expansion, in an area where local businesses are currently thriving.”
