MORE than 80 per cent of adults in Barnsley have had at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

Since the start of the vaccination programme in December, almost 170,000 residents have had their first dose of either Pfizer or AstraZeneca - an 82 per cent uptake.

A total of 131,285 people in the town are now fully vaccinated against the virus - a 64.1 per cent uptake.

There are a number of vaccination drop-in clinics in the coming weeks that can be found on the Barnsley CCG Facebook page.
