BARNSLEY Council is encouraging schools to take part in a virtual climate conference starting next week.
The event, from Monday until Wednesday, will feature a programme of interactive workshops and activities related to climate change.
There will also be a climate-friendly cooking demonstration by plant-based chefs and hosts of the ITV show ‘Living on the Veg’.
Coun Chris Lamb, cabinet spokesperson for environment and transport, said: “We are delighted to support this conference and would urge as many schools in Barnsley to get involved as possible.
“When this council declared our climate emergency in 2019, we said it was vitally important to include young people every step of the way and this is evidence of us delivering on this promise.”
