Men helped to look and feel good during chemotherapy

EXPERT barbers and skincare professionals have offered workshops to men in a bid to boost their confidence after cancer.

Barnsley Hospital teamed up with charity Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) to run men-only workshops for those who are undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

The service supports them with skincare while they are having treatment and the sessions were run virtually during the pandemic.

Alison Spencer, Barnsley Hospital cancer service’s facilitator, said: “Covid-19 has been really difficult for all of us at the hospital, and we’ve had to be innovative with how to continue to provide this vital service.”
