Smithies recycling centre set to close for vital work

THE SMITHIES recycling centre will be closed from Monday for essential maintenance.

From Monday (May 17) until Friday (May 28), the Smithies tip - on Smithies Lane - will be closed to the public.

This is due to essential maintenance at the site.

From June 7, the Worsbrough recycling centre will be closed and then the Goldthorpe site will be closed from June 15.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “We apologise for any incovenience this essential work causes.”
