HUNDREDS of cannabis plants were seized by police from a property in the town centre earlier today.
Police in Barnsley have launched an investigation after the discovery of a cannabis cultivation in Barnsley town centre today (May 11).
Officers from the Tasking and Barnsley Central Neighbourhood Teams conducted a search at a commercial property in Market Street and located a cannabis farm with more than 650 plants.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing and police remain at the scene whilst they carry out their investigation.
