Lateral testing to hit 300,000 in Barnsley

ALMOST 300,000 rapid lateral flow tests have been conducted in Barnsley since November - with more than 2,700 completed yesterday alone.

Barnsley Council has been encouraging some residents to take the tests to help stop the virus from spreading.

The lateral flow tests have been offered to those who are showing no symptoms.

A total of 289,000 tests have been conducted since November 6 - almost 90,000 of those were conducted last month.

Around 2,779 tests were conducted yesterday (May 4).

This is lower than Monday’s (May 3) total of 4,268 tests taken.
