STREET marshals will be out in the town centre for the first time tomorrow night.

The team will be monitoring busy areas across the town whilst assisting, advising and guiding people to enjoy the nightlife from tomorrow (April 16).

The marshals are trained in first aid and will be carrying masks and hand sanitiser and they’ll be wearing red high-vis jackets.

A spokesperson for the council said: “They have direct contact with South Yorkshire Police and can alert them to potential incidents.

“However, they’ll try to deal with low-level antisocial behaviour themselves.

“We want everyone to enjoy the easing of restrictions safely.

“Please be kind to staff and other revellers and follow the rules put in place by the venue to protect yourself and those around you.”
