TODAY'S the day as shops and hospitality venues across the borough can reopen their doors after being closed for four months.
The country will now enter the second phase of the coronavirus roadmap which came into effect from midnight last night (April 12).
This morning, traders from Barnsley Markets will reopen their stalls, and Barnsley's high streets will welcome back customers.
Anyone hoping to have a post-lockdown trim will be able to visit a hairdresser or barber.
Pubgoers will also be able to visit their local pub but will have to sit outside for the time-being.
Only pubs with outdoor seating space will be allowed to open until May when venues will be allowed to welcome customers inside.
No more than 15 guests will be allowed at weddings which is expected to rise to 30 guests in May.
