RESIDENTS have just one more week to have their say about plans for a new primary school in Royston.

The school is proposed on the MU5 development on land near Lee Lane in Royston.

Due to the amount of housing on the land, a new school is proposed to make sure that the Local Authority can provide sufficient school places.

A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “We are seeking your views and feedback on what you would like to see in a new primary school. Please note though that the consultation is not about whether you feel that the school should go ahead as this has already been determined as part of the Local Plan.

“The purpose is to seek your views about what should be the key features of a new school so that we can use this to identify a suitable multi-academy trust to run the school if the planning application for the development is agreed.”

Consultation for the plans will end on April 2. To take part in the survey, click here.
