URGENT building repairs will finally be made thanks to a cash donation.
Penistone Leisure Centre, on Thurlstone Road, has been granted a £200 donation from neighbouring group Penistone Round Table.
The money will help towards addressing damp at the front of the building and the installation of a corridor for easier access.
This comes following another cash donation from the Penistone Ward Alliance.
Rachel Gibbons, chairwoman at the centre, said: “This donation has come at a good time as we’ve had very limited income recently and have had a number of large expenses.
“As custodians of an old building, we are always discovering new issues and usually when we think we’ve just finished dealing with the last thing, so we are very grateful.
“We can complete these repairs ahead of welcoming people back into the centre when we’re able to do so.”
