A MAN has been charged with drug offences after approximately 6kg of drugs were found at his home.

On March 5, officers searched an address on Nursery Street, in the town centre, after UK Border Force intercepted a package containing a large amount of suspected drugs.

After the property was searched, a quantity of mephedrone (known as M-CAT) and mephedrone mixed with MDMA (ecstasy) was seized, along with other substances which are yet to be identified.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Mareks Dzelz, 33, of Nursery Street was arrested and subsequently charged with conspiracy to import a class B drug, concerned in the supply of class B drugs, and concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

“He appeared before court on March 6 where he was remanded into custody.”
