STAGECOACH Yorkshire is working with South Yorkshire Police on antisocial behaviour following an incident of vandalism on Wednesday.
It is reported that a bus window was smashed on Wednesday evening (February 24) in Penistone, which placed ‘customers and staff at risk’.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach said: “We take all incidents like this very seriously and are working together with the police on antisocial behaviour.
“Throughout the pandemic our buses and staff have been there for those who need to travel every day and have also dealt with some awful weather conditions recently.
“They too are key workers doing their best to serve their local community and shouldn’t be put at risk by vandalism like this.
“Our bus services are vital to local people for essential journeys and we would ask our local communities to remain vigilant and work with us to report any information that may assist the police with their enquiries.
“We understand how important it is to the local community that services are able to be maintained and we are very keen to do that.”
