ONE WOMAN and her dog hope to raise vital funds for Dementia UK, by walking 100km throughout March.
Lachelle Hartley, from Gilroyd, had the idea to take part in the challenge after her both her grandmothers died from dementia.
She also wanted a way to stay fit during the lockdown.
“I know how horrible dementia can be, and I wanted to help raise money to help further the research into the illness,” said Lachelle, 39.
“I wanted to do anything I could to raise money and I would be out walking Bruce anyway so I thought why not give it a go.”
Along with her Cane Corso/Italian Mastiff cross puppy, Bruce, Lachelle hopes to walk 5km per day throughout March to raise the funds.
“I'm hoping to raise £150, but any little will help,” she added. “I think it will be a great challenge to get out there and raise some cash, and get fit while doing it.”
