RESIDENTS have until tomorrow to have their say about plans to build a new primary school near Higham and Barugh Green.

The school is proposed on the MU1 site, which could see up to 1,700 new homes being built.

The primary school will be created to meet future school-place demand and will be created in addition to schools in the area.

Coun Margaret Bruff, cabinet spokesperson for children’s services, said: “We need to make sure that a primary school is available to provide sufficient school places at the right time.

"This consultation gives local people the chance to have their say on what they think the schools’ key features should be. This will help us when choosing a suitable multi-academy trust to run the school.

“I’d encourage families, school staff in the local area, early years providers and any interested residents to take part in the consultation.”

The consultation period will end tomorrow (February 12) at 5pm.
