TO help mark Holocaust Memorial Day, Barnsley Council is asking residents to light a candle to remember those who lost their lives.
Today (January 27) is Holocaust Memorial Day – a day to remember the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust in the Second World War.
A spokesperson for Barnsley Council said: “It’s also a day for us to stand against the prejudice and hatred we still face today to create a safer future for our communities.”

Residents are also urged to light a candle at 8pm in remembrance of those who died.
