FOLLOWING its success during the first national lockdown, Barnsley residents are being asked to return to their doorsteps to #clapforourcarers this Thursday.

Last year, people across the borough went to their doorsteps to say thanks to the frontline workers working relentlessly during the pandemic.

From 8pm this Thursday (January 7), the campaign has been reignited as numbers of positive Covid-19 cases continue to rise.

Residents have been asked to clap from inside their homes, at their front door, windows, gardens, and balconies to show show NHS staff and frontline workers appreciation for the ongoing hard work they are doing to fight coronavirus.
