Residents urged to keep eye on cars after attempted burglaries

BARNSLEY residents are being urged to be vigilant after a man has been seen attempting to open car doors in and around Monk Bretton.

The unnamed man has been seen multiple times in Staincross and Monk Bretton trying car doors in a reported attempt to gain entry to the vehicles.

While nothing has reported to be taken, residents want to urge others to keep vigilant to avoid becoming a victim.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “If you see anything suspicious we urge you to phone 101.”
