ALMOST 100 properties and two schools have been affected this morning after a burst pipe caused disruption to the water supply.

Around 92 homes on Church Street, Royston have been affected due to a burst pipe under the road.

The issue also caused Royston St John's Primary School, and Parkside Primary Academy to close for while the problem is fixed.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Water, who is responsible for fixing the leak, said: “We were alerted to a burst on Church Street early this morning, which was isolated within a few hours to protect nearby properties at risk of flooding.

“Our team are on site working hard to fix the issue, and we hope to have the water supply back on shortly.”
