FIREFIGHTERS from three stations were called to a factory fire in Tankersley on Saturday (November 14) - it marked the seventh fire reported to the team last week.

Crews from Elm Lane, Tankersley and Barnsley arrived at 9.27am to tackle the blaze on Wentworth Way.

The team found a fire within a paint bay and extraction unit. The fire was confined to the room of origin but the whole building was smoke logged.

The fire was put out by 11.37am.

Earlier in the week, firefighters across the borough were called other fires including a wheelie bin fire on New Street in Staincross on Tuesday night and a car fire on Thursday evening in Worsbrough Common.
