STAFF at a care home in Worsbrough were surprised to receive a donation of gifts as the country prepares to enter a second lockdown.

Carers at Ward Green Lodge, on High Ridge, were given gifts including lip balms, shower gels and body sprays to help boost morale.

The gifts were donated by the Barnsley North West Methodist Circuit as a way to thank the efforts of the carers during the ‘last few months and in the months to come’.

Natalie Woodcock, the activities co-ordinator at the home said: “We can’t thank the Methodist circuit enough for their kind donation.

“It’s gone down incredibly well with us at the home, we’ve been talking about it all day.

“We’re incredibly grateful that people have thought of us as we’re preparing for the lockdown.

“We’ve been trying to boost morale with our residents, yesterday we held an indoor fireworks display with our new projector which they all loved.”
