DEARNE Valley Park was the target of neighbourhood police following reports of people gathering to drink and set off fireworks were dispersed by officers.
On Monday, the Town Centre Neighbourhood Team were called to the park after residents raised concerns of numerous adults drinking alcohol, setting off fireworks and not following social distancing guidelines.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Police attended and the gathering immediately dispersed.
“The team will be patrolling open spaces around the town centre and carrying out licensing checks at alcohol and firework retailers in the coming days.”
