A DENTAL surgery in Cudworth have been raising vital funds to support the homeless across the borough during the pandemic.

Throughout the week, the staff at Cudworth Dental Surgery, on Barnsley Road, have been raising awareness and making donations to the Barnsley Rough Sleepers Project.

The project helps to support Barnsley residents who are affected by poverty, homelessness and addiction.

A spokesperson for the surgery said: “The government’s latest advice is that everyone must stay at home for the next four weeks.

“How lucky are we to have homes to stay in? The fact is, not everyone has a home.

“With this in mind, Cudworth Dental Surgery wanted to help to make a difference.

“We have been working hard trying to provide help and raise money to support the Barnsley Rough Sleeper Project.

“With the money raised, we have been able to provide the BCDP drop-in centre with some essential food and eight new sleeping bags suitable for the winter months.

“Unfortunately, we can’t help everyone but every little bit of support really does help and will make a positive difference to someone at the drop-in centre.”
