AN ANIMAL rescue charity is appealing for donations amidst the pandemic to help support vulnerable animals across the borough.

Barnsley Animal Rescue Charity (BARC) was established in 1995 to care for animals without a home.

It was formed at a time when other animal rescue centres would put healthy animals down, and it has always been the policy of BARC to try and re-home their animals.

Now, the kennels have issued a desperate appeal for bedding, especially towels and fleece blankets.

A spokesperson for BARC said: “Donations can be dropped off at any of our charity shops with a label marked ‘for kennels’ (addresses can be found on our website).

“You can also send this to our kennels address, Rainbow Hill Kennels, Woodhead Road, Wortley S35 7DA.

“We are unable to accept duvets or pillows.”
