A BARNSLEY man has been charged after a string of burglaries across the town.

Michael Moore, 52, of Tingle Bridge Lane was arrested in connection to a series of incidents that saw seven businesses targeted between February and May this year.

During the course of the burglaries a number of items were reportedly stolen including cash, a metal safe, and mechanic tools.

Some of the items have since been recovered and returned to their owners.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “On Tuesday October 27, Moore was subsequently charged with six counts of commercial burglary and one count of attempted burglary.

“Moore has now been bailed to his first appearance at Sheffield Magistrates Court on December 31.”
