A MONK Bretton pub has rolled out a new way for workers to beat the work from home boredom – by bringing the office to the pub.

The Norman Inn pub, on Burton Road, has introduced pub desks for people who are working from home to enjoy a change of scenery and work from a table in the pub.

“We just thought it would be something different,” said pub manager, Rebekah Rankin. “By working in the pub people can interact with others and have a change of scenery.

“I thought that by now I would be really bored working from my kitchen table so I thought working somewhere new would be beneficial.”

Rebekah announced the pub desks on Facebook and her post has since been shared more than 700 times.

“I was shocked,” added Rebekah. “I didn't think it would get much interest but people are really interested.

“I think with Covid not looking to end any time soon, we wanted to help people who are working from home – even if it is in a small way.”
