AN UNUSUAL burger will be arriving in Barugh Green to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The 'Greene Warrior' burger will be available at The Chestnut Tree, Claycliffe Road, as part of collaborations between the Greene King and Hungry Horse restaurant chains and the cancer charity.

The burger includes a chicken or beef burger, with mac 'n' cheese in a green burger bun which has been 'dyed' with spinach.

Proceeds from the burger will be donated to Macmillan which will help the charity to continue its essential work.

The Chestnut Tree is the only pub in Barnsley to offer the limited edition burger.

The restaurant will also offer an ice cream sundae, The Mint-Milan, to help raise further funds.

Rachel Gascoigne, senior partnerships manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “Our partnership with Greene King is so successful and our sincere thanks go to their customers and team members.

“We are almost entirely reliant on the generosity of our partners and the public and are grateful to Chestnut Tree for their kind donation on every Greene Warrior burger and Mint-Millan dessert purchased in September.”

The burger and sundae will be available throughout September.
