A PENSIONER who lives with cerebral palsy has raised more than £700 for a cancer charity in honour of Yorkshire Day.

Linda Osborne, who is a resident at Lavender Court in Kendray, was inspired to raise funds after seeing an advert on TV about what to do with a pair of wellies to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.

As Linda has cerebral palsy she was unable to do anything physically demanding so instead opted to shave all of her hair off.

Linda’s son, Wayne, has been overwhelmed with the public’s support.

“My mum loves Yorkshire Day and wanted to show her pride for it whilst also doing something for others.

“On the day, her friends and family gathered, from a social distance, at Lavender court where her niece Diane cut her lovely hair off.

“I’m so proud of her for raising such a significant amount of money, and it’s still coming in.

“Thank you to everyone who donated to the cause and helped her have her crowing glory.”
