A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he fell from a motorway bridge.
Emergency services were called to junction 37 at Dodworth at around 12.10am this morning (Monday, July 6) after a 33-year-old man was seen on the bridge.
The police said that the man suffered serious injuries as a result of his fall and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
The northbound carriageway of the M1 was closed until around 1.30am while emergency services dealt with the incident.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “On arrival the man had fallen from the bridge.
"The 33-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries. They are not thought to be life threatening."
