A HOYLAND barber will be offering free haircuts for NHS workers when it’s able to open its doors after lockdown.

Joe McCready, a hairdressers on Market Street, is currently taking booking from NHS workers after offering free haircuts to the workers.

Joe, 33, who owns the barbers, has family members who work in healthcare, and so wanted to show his appreciation when hairdressers are free to open once again.

“I’ve got quite a few clients who work for the NHS as well as members of my family who work for them too.

“I wanted to give back to the local people, and I think it’s only fair to give back a bit of my time to those who have sacrificed three months of theirs.

“At the moment, the government guidelines are saying we could possibly open after July 4, so I’m taking potential bookings from then

“It’s been a difficult time for a lot of local businesses, so for people to support in any way they can is extremely important.”
