A WOMAN from Wombwell dressed in a dinosaur costume last week in a bid to cheer up children in her area.
Kirsty McBride, 24, of Loxley Avenue, bought the fancy dress online a few weeks ago after being inspired by viral videos on social media.
She said: “When I originally saw the videos online they made me laugh, so I thought why not give it a go myself and do it round here.
“The main aim was to just make people laugh, and it certainly did that.
“I had kids taking pictures with me from a distance, cars slowing down to look and obviously it gave everyone a good laugh.”
Kirsty works as a flight attendant for EasyJet, but due to the lockdown hasn’t been able to do her job.
“I moved back in with my dad before the lockdown and now I’m here full-time,” she told the Chronicle.
“That’s why I decided to do it, it’s something different for me as well as the kids, it’s not every day that you see an inflatable dinosaur walking through the streets of Wombwell.
“I went up on to the High Street and to Tesco at Stairfoot and the response that I got was amazing, it put a smile on my face as well which is what I think everyone needs right now.”
