A CRICKET club which batted its way to a prestigious final needs to raise urgent cash to fund the trip to Lord’s.
Houghton Main are due to travel to the home of cricket on September 15 to contest the final of the National Village Trophy.
However the trip is set to be expensive so a £1,500 online fundraiser has been launched.
Simon Ward, who started the fundraiser, said: “The club last had this success in 2006. We are turning to the kind people of the community to help us raise much-needed funds for the cost of travel and accommodation.”
