AN ANNUAL remembrance walk organised by Barnsley Independent Alzheimer’s and Dementia Support (BIADS) will take place in the coming weeks.

The event, established as one of the charity’s biggest fundraisers, will see people of all ages – dogs are also welcome – get together for a two-mile walk around Worsbrough Country Park.

Funds raised will ensure BIADS can continue to support families in Barnsley who are affected by dementia.

This year’s walk has an added twist in that walkers are invited to take on the challenge in fancy dress, with prizes for the best dressed adult and child.

They can then head to the school room near the entrance to Worsbrough Mill, where hand-made cakes and confections will be available.

The remembrance walk will take place at 11am on Sunday June 9. For further details and to obtain a sponsorship form contact BIADS on 280057 or email biads@btconnect.com.
