POLICE have launched an investigation after a window of a house was damaged by an alleged firearm.

On Sunday May 12 at 10.49pm, a window at a house on on Keble Martin Way, Wath-Upon-Dearne, was damaged which is believed to have been caused by a firearm.

It is believed that offenders were in a small vehicle that slowed down as it passed the targeted house, and discharged their firearm, leaving a football sized hole in the window. No one was injured.

police spokesman said: "We would like to reassure the community that there is no information to suggest that there is any threat to the wider community and there have not been any further incidents.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information that can help them with their enquiries. If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 933 of May 12 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
