A PEACOCK which has been roaming the streets of Gawber has been catching the attention of several residents.
For over a week, the peacock has been seen wandering Victoria Crescent, Kensington Road and Haverdale Rise and there have been signings around the police station and Barnsley Hospital.
Churchfields Vets are currently trying to safely capture the peacock.
A spokesperson from Churchfields vet said: "Please do not chase the peacock as we have had reports he’s very stressed.
"We would advise to get him into an enclosed area by coaxing with food. Please do not chase him.
"If you are able to enclose him please call Churchfield Vets on 01226 733333 as we have someone who will collect him."
