A FORMAL application has been submitted to the council for boxing events to take place at Oakwell.
A notice of application was placed outside Oakwell last week, which subsequently went viral on social media, for boxing and wrestling entertainment event to take place at Oakwell.
Rumours spread that local boxer Callum Simpson would fight at the club’s ground – something he admits is a dream of his.
The application seeks to allow boxing and wrestling entertainment to take place at Oakwell between the hours of 10am and 12am from Friday to Sunday.
The public can have their say on the plans by emailing licensing@barnsley.gov.uk by midnight of July 4.
