WHEN Ashley Carter’s dad passed away in January after a battle with Alzheimer's, he decided that he wanted to do something in his father's memory.

Ashley, of New Lodge, said: “My dad, Charlie Carter battled Alzheimer’s Disease before he died and I wanted to raise some money in his memory. I looked for a suitable cause and I decided on the Alzheimer's Society. Because of what my dad went through, this charity is close to my heart.”

Ashley is doing a sponsored skydive in Bridlington on August 3 and is appealing for donations in his bid to raise £600 for the cause.

Ashley’s fiancee Georgina and family and friends will be cheering him on and Ashley is raring to take to the skies: “I’m really looking forward to it – it’s all new to me and raising this money means so much to me.”
