MAY Barton received 787 birthday cards from around the world to mark her 102nd birthday.
The lifelong Barnsley resident, who now lives at The Firs in Dodworth, celebrated her special birthday last Sunday with a party.
Earlier this year, staff began an appeal to get birthday cards sent to May as they worked to make this momentous day extra special.
On Wednesday, residents and staff gathered together at the home’s coffee morning to take a final count of how many cards May received and there were 787 cards sent in from across the globe.
There were cards from Egypt, Australia, and a lot from different parts of America.
Lots of the cards were homemade too and staff at the home said it had been a really overwhelming response.
