A VERY happy birthday to Frank White who celebrated his 100th birthday on Sunday.

Frank White celebrated becoming a centenarian with a party at his home in Wombwell, surrounded by family and friends.

Frank proudly showed off all his birthday cards – notably one from King Charles – and friends from Age UK Barnsley presented him with a framed life story based on the detailed memoirs Frank wrote himself.

The unstoppable centenarian – who had a pacemaker fitted only a few weeks ago – said the secret to his long and healthy life is to simply ‘get out of bed every morning’.

Frank’s social inclusion officer, Sharon Gaddes, said: “Frank is an inspiration to us all. He is a wonderful man who has reached a century of wisdom and whose heart remains forever young.

All of his friends at Age UK Barnsley wish him a remarkable 100th birthday.”

Frank, who was formerly in the Royal Navy also received a surprise visit from Commander David Noakes from the Royal Navy. He presented him with a certificate and a tot of rum, before spending the afternoon chatting with him and swapping stories.
