A NUMBER of roads across the area are under water and the Environment Agency has issued a flood warning.

The agency has issued the warning for Wath-upon-Dearne and says that river levels have risen on the Brook Dike due to heavy rainfall.

Areas most at risk at Wath, it says, include Stacey Mill House on Mill Lane, West Street, Green Ings Lane and Station Road including the sports centre, works, depot, sewage works and garden centre.

Further rainfall is forecast into this evening and overnight.

The agency update said: “Please put your flood plan into action and take care when near washlands and low-lying land, which will be flooded. Avoid using low-lying footpaths near local watercourses, and do not drive through floodwater.”
