FOUR new properties could soon be built in Athersley North once land is auctioned off later this month.
Planning permission has already been granted to build two pairs of three-bedroom properties on Mansfield Road. The land will be auctioned off on January 30, with a guide price set between £100,000 and £110,000. It will be sold at an auction by Mark Jenkinson and Son.

AN OUTBUILDING in Barugh Green can now be used as a beauty salon after retrospective plans were approved by the council. An application was originally submitted in October for the site on Medway Close to be used as a salon. Barnsley Council’s planning board approved the plans recently.
PLANS to convert a former shop in Shafton into a new property have been approved by the council. An application for the work to be undertaken on Pontefract Road was originally submitted in October. These plans were given the green light last week.
PLANS to erect a bungalow in Worsbrough Common have been submitted to the council. If approved, the property will sit on Bismarck Street. A total of 11 neighbouring properties have been made aware of the plans with no appeals to date. Public consultation ends on January 12.
AN AGRICULTURAL building in Langsett can now be used as a residential property after plans were deemed acceptable by the council. An application for the work to be undertaken on Birkland Farm, Fullshaw Lane, was submitted in September. These plans were approved by Barnsley Council’s planning board last month.

PLANS to erect an ancillary annexe in Royston for a dependent resident have been rejected by the council. An application for the work to be undertaken on Cross Lane was originally submitted in October. These plans were turned down by Barnsley Council’s planning board last week.
