BARNSLEY stars Katherine Kelly and Shaun Dooley have joined forces once again to star in ITV show Mr Bates vs The Post Office.
The pair, who play Angela van Den Bogerd and Michael Sedgwick, help to tell the story of one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in British legal history.
Hundreds of innocent subpostmasters and postmistresses were wrongly accused of theft, fraud, and false accounting due to a defective IT system.
Many of the wronged workers were prosecuted, some were imprisoned for crimes they never committed, and their lives were irreparably damaged by the scandal.
The drama will narrate how in 2009, a group of sub postmasters from across the UK decided enough was enough and formed the Justice For Subpostmasters Alliance.
The first episode of the series will air on ITV1 at 9pm on New Year’s Day, and will run for four consecutive days.
