THE company which previously owned The Salt House in the town centre has entered voluntary liquidation.

The True Independent Group Ltd, the company of former councillor Mat Crisp, appointed liquidators on December 5.

A document on the government website shows the company owed a total of £428,000.

This includes £98,000 to the HMRC, £151,000 to the new owners of The Salt House as well as a further £110,000 to You Lend Ltd and £34,500 to the Small Beer Company.

No money is owed to Barnsley Council, after the new owners of the town centre site paid rent debts.
