THE Chase's Mark Labbett has been among special guests at a pub quiz which regularly attracts 100 visitors.
And Jake Brook, landlord at The Fountain at Ingbirchworth, is pullling out all the stops for a special Christmas celebration later this month.
The quiz closes down a local street every week – but that’s not stopping them from going bigger than ever for the festive season.
For the past two years, The Fountain in Ingbirchworth has been hosting weekly pub quizzes that have grown immeasurably.
With special guest appearances from members of the Eggheads and The Chase’s own ‘Beast’ – otherwise known as Mark Labbett – no-one could have imagined that the quiz would be regularly getting around 100 visitors.
Now the pub’s management are hoping to go large for the holidays, with a celebration full of activities followed by a festive take on their now-famous quiz on December 19.
Jake said: “A local was just asking for a pub quiz, but we went drastic.
“There’s always cars all the way down the street, closing the road off.
“With Christmas we want to get in as many people as possible – we’re hoping everyone walks away with a prize.
“I spent Black Friday buying up discounted plasma TVs and technology for the night.”
