TEN Barnsley primary schools have teamed up with Age UK Barnsley to support a donation drive to mark World Kindness Day.

The event saw children and parents bringing pre-loved goods into school to be dropped off in Age UK Barnsley donation stations which were then collected by the charity for sale through their Eldon Street charity shop.

Hundreds of items were donated and Age UK Barnsley chief executive Debby Bunn has thanked everyone who got involved.

She said: “We are absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone who got involved with our donation drive and would like to say a massive thanks to all who donated.

“As a fiercely local, independent charity we rely on the generous donations of local people every penny that we raise goes towards supporting older people in Barnsley.

“We are looking forward to working closely with our local schools again as part of future donation events after the success of this first appeal.”

The following schools got involved with the heartwarming scheme.
